Launch Discord card template

A launch Discord card is a component embed: title, image, and real link buttons Discord renders natively on the paste. It is not a bot message, and it is not the gray Open Graph tile your marketing site produces today.

Launch Discord card template

Northline ships public beta

A status page that actually pages you. Buy, read the docs, or steal the launch thread.

Who this is for

  • Indie founders shipping a public beta this week
  • Creators running limited drops and restocks in their own server
  • Moderators who want a start-here pin that is not a wall of text

Reach for it when: A public beta, a Product Hunt day, a limited drop, or the welcome message you keep pinned.

Launch day in a Discord channel

Launch links die in Discord as flat tiles — a logo, one sentence, and no way to act. People who wanted to buy have to click, load your site, and find the button themselves.

Import the marketing URL and keep the scraped title and image, then attach Buy and Docs. Publish, and paste the hosted link in the launch channels you were going to post in anyway.

If you already control server-side rendering on your own domain, copy the script tag instead and paste your real URL. If you are on Framer, Carrd, or Webflow with no access to raw head HTML, the hosted link is the whole point.

Drops and restocks

A drop is a launch with a clock on it. Use a gallery shot, publish once, and pin the message — you are not going to re-paste every time stock moves.

When inventory hits zero, edit the title to say so and repoint Buy while Notify me stays live. The pinned message updates itself on the next crawl.

Discord's preview cache is about 30 minutes. That is right for a restock and wrong for second-by-second inventory. If the number has to be exact at the moment someone reads it, put it behind the button, not on the card.

The same template as a server intro

Swap the CTA labels to Rules, Roles, and Support and you have a start-here pin that renders as buttons instead of a numbered list nobody reads.

Because it is an ordinary link, any moderator can paste it in any channel — nothing to invite or keep online.

The same template, other jobs

  • Field Notes pack — drop live

Limited pack. Buy while it lasts — or Notify me when Sold out is greyed out on the next edit.

Same template, run as a limited drop with Buy and Notify me.

  • Welcome to Harbor — start here

Rules, roles, and support in one paste. Pin this instead of a wall of text.

    Same template with Rules / Roles / Support — a start-here pin.

Common questions

Can I grey out Buy when the drop sells out?
Edit the card and repoint the button at the sold-out or waitlist page, and say so in the title. Discord renders link buttons, which are always clickable — the honest move is to change where it goes rather than to fake a disabled state.
How fast does the card update after I edit it?
Discord recrawls the URL on its own cache timer, typically about 30 minutes. There is no way to push an update — a link preview has no socket.
